Joe: What makes this shot perfect (and just a little bit funnier) is that the ornament obscures both their faces. I don’t know if you’re a one-shot Decisive Moment kind of shooter or you fire away in a situation like this in which everything’s in motion. (I admit I’m the latter.) But it’s easy to imagine other slivers of time where the object would obscure just one face or none (and might also be partway in the door instead of framed nicely out in the open. Then you would have a different picture, still good, maybe metaphorical in some way, but not the same as this one.
