Great shot of a great piece of “found art” honoring all those people who lost their lives that blue sky day nine years ago now. These days we are bombarded by religious and political pimps trying to make hay off the suffering and loss those fire fighters, cops, workers and their families went through. It is good to be reminded on the anniversary of that awful morning of the reality of what humans can do to each other and what happened downtown.

I think it’s especially poignant framed by the pretty door and the barbershop (they’re hiring!) Life goes on.

Wonderful photo, Joe. I really miss your archives with the old photos and comments, especially today. Are they gone forever or will we see them again?

I’ve got all the photos, but there’s no easy way for me to make them into an archive on this current blog. When I have time, I may try to install my old blog software, MovableType, onto this new server, so that all the old photos are available. But that means waiting until I have a day or two, and even then it may not work — unfortunately, a lot of that blog was hardwired to the old URL pathnames, which no longer exist…
