When I first saw this i thought that they were reading some horrible newspaper article. Then I realized they are studying a menu! If they are from out of town the prices might seem catastrophic I guess. Nice capture of how similar human expressions can be when looking at a train wreck or a fifty dollar garlic knot!

Great picture. Do people ever notice that you took their picture ?
I wonder if they are from the midwest. The pizza here in Minnesota is awful.

this one is great! no offense (i’m from the midwest myself), but doesn’t all that plaid say “right off the farm” or what? :)

Do people notice? Not often. I’m quick and quiet. But when they do, I find they always respond to a smile and a nod.
I love street photography, I’m always wondering what is really going on in these photographs, are they on vacation? celebrating something? Such an honest image.

Nice to know a bit more about you in the interview ! Congrats !
Italian restaurant menus can be very disturbing to the uninitiated! :)
I read your interview. Joe, I didn’t know you spoke such beautiful Italian. Very impressive.
