Joe, the details of this dark statue are so neat. The quality of this shot is (almost) incredible.
The moment is well chosen : the expression is priceless. He’s just realising that the baby’s bare nude – disgusting!
Union Square Park, is it my favorite Manhattan park? Humm, almost. I surely have a stop everytime I’m around. There’s always something going on. It’s always full of people. There’s many different sections; I can use the benches, the grass or the steps, as I feel. And there’s a great market (where they sell fromage de lait cru – and other goods). It’s steps away from the Strand. It connects to so many subway lines. Hummm… longing…
Another amazing shot of something I’ve seen so often I don’t even notice it anymore. Thanks for reminding me to stop and see what’s there to capture instead of spending all my time looking for something to shoot.
Joe, what is the name of this statue?
It’s the prosaically named “Union Square Drinking Fountain” from 1881.
his expression is priceless. he does not look too happy! :-)
