The English doesn’t sound nearly as romantic as the French. It’s artistic/perspective description is “upward foreshortening.”
Probably not the same “Lady Liberty” Joe shot on 21 January (previous image about 10 times). You might want to check that one out and then examine why you would bother to declare this street performer to most probably be transgendered. What does it matter?
AN even more unromantic phrase would be “worm’s eye view”. So I wonder if you had to pay Lady Liberty to take her picture as one often has to when shooting characters on the street. And after all she is Lady Liberty and as the aying goes-“freedom isn’t free”. Cool shot. I would love to see a book collection of your photographs. It is some of the most compelling work I see anywhere.
I did pay. I always pay street performers. I pay even if I shoot from far away, or from behind, and I’m not noticed. That’s the deal — $1 for a photo. Another dollar if I keep them for a few minutes.
