This is one of the images I shot for my project “My Father’s Darkroom.” The statement for the project can be found on the last page of the portfolio, and an article about the series appears at Feature Shoot.

“My Father’s Darkroom” brought back memories of my long gone darkroom and the aroma of fixer and stop. In a few more years museums
will be the only place to see this type of equipment and watch a digital movie showing how photography was done in the past. Everything changes.
Well done!
I love this project. I was too young to be around for the time when dad did darkroom work, but that was the same equipment that I used when growing up and doing my own darkroom work, though I was stuck in the bathroom with two folding doors to keep light out. It was primitive, but it taught me everything I needed to know and allows me to make my own prints.
Your images are gorgeous and I recall using that film winder and that film changing bag. There’s a good chance those chemicals bottles are filled with chemicals I picked up to use! Wish I’d had the chance to learn more from him.
