That is a beautiful shot. It greatly belies the horrible smell the Ginkgo apples emit when they fall and are crushed on the sidewalk. Causes me to avoid entire blocks between August and November.
But there is no doubt those trees are pretty to look at.

Ahh there’s a song that comes to my mind when I see this picture sung by an old friend of mine…goes to the tune of “don’t sit under the apple tree” but insert ginko..

There are male and female Ginko trees. Only the females have the ‘fruit’. There was one outside my college dorm room and in the fall the stench of the seeds attracted lots of house flies.
