    Joe

Thanks for today’s great photo of NY’s firefighters and Old Glory—very compassionate! ….I was getting bored by all the balloon photos. Keep up the good work!

I really like this and am pleased that you were able to resist the green balloons (rather trite) that are “everywhere”.

Remarkable. Only one face is visible, and that one is unforgettable, if hard to classify. And the light is gorgeous.

This is another incredible shot. I love how you captured that expression on his face and how he is surrounded by the flags.
    Excellent work as usual.

I have a friend who grew up on 5th Ave. Her birthday was St. Patrick’s Day. Until she started school, it had been her understanding that the parade was for her birthday.

Love this photo. The look on the face of the fire fighter is so so i have no words for it very nice

looks like he suddenly realized he’s at the wrong parade

I agree with all the comments posted. There is such a soulfulness in that guy’s face. It is more than a documentation of a parade. Yesterday morning my girlfriend and I went to Terrace Bagels and on our way back the marchers were gathering for the PPW St Paddy’s parade. There were musicians standing around warming up. I commented to Amy that Joe Holmes should be here getting this. You certainly got the picture here though.
