Joe, If I were going to try and hunt and capture you I would use balloons as bait.
You somehow seem to find them where I never see them at all. It must be “the kid” in you, which is beautiful.
Yes you do like those balloons don’t you? I like them with snow on them. It seems somehow contradictory. I expect balloons to feel summery.
It’s disconcerting to me (in a good way) that the balloons are so sharp and the street is so soft. What causes that? It doesn’t seem like it’s just depth of field. It doesn’t look far away.
Kevin — I suspect the disconcerting look might be a combination of both the extremely shallow depth of field of that f/1.4 lens, the really smooth rendition you get from the Nikon 85mm f/1.4, and the fact that there’s no middle ground to offer a gradual transition from the sharp to the soft. But that’s a guess.
superbe composition et focus.
Great timing, color and DOF. Joe

Yes, Bill, exactly.
Beautiful women are beautiful any time of year, no matter how bundled up (or beyond the depth-of-field).
I LOVE the use of color, fabulous photo!

I’m digging the background… I love the mystery in the background.
Careful with the comments, guys. I think that may be Joe’s daughter.
No, not my daughter. A stranger.
