    No tripod, but no need — the Tamon 90mm f/2.8 macro lens at 1/200 sec, f/25 and ISO 800.

    You say “Garden”, meaning “outside” ? How come your light isn’t harsh ?

    The sun was partly softened by light clouds — that made all the difference…

    How does the Tamron compare to the Nikkor 85mm? Or can it? That shot looks pretty great. I had the Tamron 18/270, a stinker.

    Nothing can compare to Nikon’s 85mm f/1.4, but the closest it can focus is about five feet away. I got the relatively inexpensive Tamron 90mm because it had a very good reputation as a macro lens. If I’m not shooting macro, I switch to the Nikon.
