As a kid growing up on Long Island, we called these punks. We would pick them and dry them and then burn them and use them to light fireworks. Here in the Hudson Valley, I have been using them to keep mosquitos away in the evening and they are very effective. Your photo of them shows so much more depth and variation of color to what had always seemed such a simple plant. Thanks. Are there prints of this photo for sale?
